Duration: 29 Weeks
Focus: Comprehensive training in gas engineering, including the installation and maintenance of air source heat pumps.
You will earn essential certifications, including:
- CCN1: Core Domestic Gas Safety (Natural Gas)
- CPA1: Combustion Performance Analysis
- CENWAT: Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
- CKR1: Domestic Gas Cookers
- Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems: Installation, Servicing, and Maintenance
- WRAS Water Byelaws
- Level 3 Award in Air Source Heat Pumps: Installation and Maintenance 🌬
- System Design and Fault Finding: Enhancing your troubleshooting skills for central heating systems.
Our industry-leading course features a six-month schedule with 50 days of in-person learning delivered Monday - Friday, allowing you to gain a solid foundation in gas safety and engineering principles. Adhering to the IGEM training standards, we ensure you receive top-quality education and the essential qualifications to excel in the field.
Core Gas Safety Training
This stage covers essential gas safety training required by law, equipping you with the foundational skills to pass your ACS exams but also the practical skills required for the installation, service and repair on boilers, cookers and heating systems.

- Safety, Legislation, and Standards
- Gas Emergency Procedures
- Combustion Product Characteristics
- Ventilation for Domestic Appliances
- Pipework Installation and Testing
- Meter Regulator Operations
- Recognizing Unsafe Situations
- Chimney Standards and Testing
- Domestic Pipework Installation
Practical Skills Development:
Gain hands-on experience in:
- Domestic boilers
- Gas Cooking Appliances

Second stage of the course is Work Placement and Portfolio (18 Weeks)
Overview: Build a diverse portfolio showcasing your work on various gas installations and repairs. A strong portfolio demonstrates your gas safety knowledge and readiness to contribute effectively in the field.

ACS Assessment (1 Week)
Overview: Complete your ACS assessments to qualify for the Gas Safe Register. This phase consists of theoretical exams and practical evaluations focused on essential gas safety.

Refresher Week - Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm
for 1 week to finalise portfolio and prepare for final assessments.

Overview: with the push to Net-Zero enhance your qualifications with training in air source heat pumps. This optional week is designed to provide you with the skills to install, service, and repair these systems.
